BSA Grants for UK activities in Aesthetics
For Grants Applications click here.
Each year the BSA gives small grants in support of UK activities in aesthetics. Past grants have been used to support conferences and lecture series. Applicants must be members of the Society. Where the event applied for is abroad, it must be demonstrated that the event is in the interests of British Aesthetics. Applications should be completed online (to do so you need to be a member of the site - please contact the Administrator for details). Email adminATbritish-aesthetics.org (please replace 'AT' with @). Applications should include at least the following:
- a clear statement of rationale, explaining how the project meets the BSA mission
- a clearly costed and detailed budget covering both income and expenditure
- an expectation of other funding sources, including contribution from home institution
The Society does not typically regard itself as the main or sole funder for events, but as offering a contribution (‘pump-priming’) to help leverage funds from other funding bodies to make events possible. The BSA only rarely offers funding up to its maximum of £1000, and when it does this is typically for large events taking place over several days with several international keynotes. Grants are not normally made to projects of benefit to only one or a few individuals. Grants do not normally exceed £1000, though more may be given in exceptional circumstances.
The deadlines for applications are as follows: 1 November (for a decision by mid-December), 1 March (for a decision by mid-April), and 1 August (for a decision by mid-September). In exceptional circumstances, an application may be considered out of this cycle. Successful applicants must advertise the Society in all relevant documentation, including online.
