British Society of Aesthetics

BSA Grants
Each year the BSA gives small grants in support of UK activities in aesthetics. Past grants have been used to support conferences and lecture series. Applicants must be members of the Society. Where the event applied for is abroad, it must be demonstrated that the event is in the interests of British Aesthetics.

Applications should include a specific description of the project and a pre-costing which estimates how the funds would be used. Grants do not normally exceed £1,000, though more may be given in exceptional circumstances. The Society does not normally make grants to projects of benefit to only one or a few individuals. Other funding bodies must also be approached, and a list of those funding bodies approached given.

The deadlines for applications are as follows:

1 November (for a decision by mid-January)
1 March (for a decision by mid-April)
15 August (for a decision by end-September)

Dates for notification of results are approximate. The Society strongly advises applicants to allow sufficient lead time when submitting applications, as it will not consider applications outside this cycle.

Successful applicants must advertise the Society in all relevant documentation, including online.  We will provide a PDF flyer promoting the Society's journal for use in delegate packs or display.  A virtual BSA logo is available here

Limited funds are available to facilitate the participation of disabled speakers and/or delegates on request.  Suitable documentation will be required.

Payment of the grant is typically after the event and requires submission of the final conference budget, plus a brief conference report for the Society’s newsletter and website.  Photos are also welcome.
