The 2012 British Society of Aesthetics Conference takes place 21-23 September 2012 at Queen's College, Oxford.
Call for Papers
Confirmed Keynote Speakers: Kendall Walton (University of Michigan) will give the Wollheim Memorial Lecture; Jancis Robinson (
www.jancisrobinson.com) will give the Empson Lecture.
Deadline for submitted papers: 1 April 2012.
Papers are invited in all areas of philosophical aesthetics. All submissions should include a 200 word abstract and must be prepared for blind review.
Regular submissions may not exceed 3500 words excluding abstract (around 30 minutes’ reading time).
Submissions by students enrolled in MA or doctoral degree programmes are to be marked as such at the time of submission and may not exceed 2500 words excluding abstract (around 20-25 minutes’ reading time).
Students whose papers are accepted will receive a stipend to defray conference fees and accommodation costs. The winner of the prize for the best paper by a student will also receive £100 and a grant for travel to the conference.
Abstracts without full papers, papers that are not prepared for blind review, and papers that exceed the maximum length will not be considered.
