About BSA Grants
Each year the BSA gives small grants in support of UK activities in aesthetics. Past grants have been used to support conferences and lecture series. Applicants must be members of the Society. Where the event applied for is abroad, it must be demonstrated that the event is in the interests of British Aesthetics. Applications may be completed online here, or should be addressed to the Secretary: Kathleen Stock, Department of Philosophy, Arts B, School of Humanities, University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton, BN1 9QN. Email secretaryATbritish-aesthetics.org (please replace 'AT' with @). Applications should include a specific description of the project and a pre-costing which estimates how the funds would be used. Grants do not normally exceed £1000, though more may be given in exceptional circumstances. The Society does not normally make grants to projects of benefit to only one or a few individuals. Other funding bodies must also be approached, and a list of those funding bodies approached given. Successful applicants must advertise the Society in all relevant documentation, including online. here ) The deadline for applications are as follows: 1st November (for a decision by mid-December), 1st March (for a decision by mid-April), and 1st August (for a decision by mid-September). In exceptional circumstances, an application may be considered out of this cycle.
